In order to change the habit of men staying away from the voting polls and leaving voting to Zimbabwean women, a female government minister has called on women to withhold sex from their partners unless they register to vote.
Zimbabwe’s elections are expected to hold on July 31 and minister of regional integration and international cooperation, Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga said Zimbabwean women must not have sex until their partners register to vote.
“You are basically saying to your partners, we are all suffering the same way.  We need to make a difference.  I am not asking you to go to war.  I am asking you to go and vote,” said Misihairabwi-Mushonga. “You have a responsibility.  For years, we have seen that the majority of people that go to register to vote have been women.  And this call is to say, we as women can’t be taking this struggle alone.  We need to take our men on board.  And if we can’t bring them on board by talking to them nicely, we will deny them something that we know they certainly would want. ”

Man, 45, beats wife to death in Ekiti

WHEN WILL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STOP IN NIGERIA
Policemen
Some bizarre news reaching us from Ekiti State suggest that a 45-yearold man, Mr. Daramola, is now in police net for allegedly beating his wife to death. The incident allegedly happened in Igbemo-Ekiti community in Police Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Mrs Iyabo Daramola, a mother of three, met her untimely death on Monday when she allegedly requested for her food money and the man said he had no money, but while he was talking, the sum of N38, 000 allegedly fell from his pocket. This is suspected to have led to an argument and Daramola, aka Wasco, began to beat her. A source said as the woman attempted to run away, the husband took wood and allegedly pursued her and began to beat her, during which the woman fell down and died.
It is reported that afterwards, Wasco who is a motorcycle repairer and farmer, ran away but the police from Iworoko police station had moved into area in search of him. Reacting to the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Victor Babayemi, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
A family member of the deceased and Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Laolu Omosilade confirmed that the police had arrested him as at press time.

I had sex with her before I could shout ‘blood of Jesus’ – Bishop Nwabueze confesses to raping 15-year-old

Bishop Chibuike Nwabueze, the Chairman of All Bishops in Rivers State, who was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year old girl, was paraded, yesterday, by the state Police Command. The Bishop claimed hypnosis in his confession – made before newsmen – adding that a colleague in the Lord set him up at the church where the incident occurred.
He however denied raping the girl, claimimg that the lady undressed after the prayer session and before he knew what was happening and shout “Blood of Jesus”, he had engaged the girl.
The Bishop believes that this was a calculated ploy to discredit him as the other Bishop was also contesting the post of Chairman of All Bishops in the state with him.
He said: “We have different Colleges of Bishops. I am the Chairman of Communion of Bishops in Rivers State. Well, what actually happened was a set up. It was set-up by my enemies. The man who is in-charge of where I went to minister is my enemy. He is the person that set me up.”
“He invited me to his church for a programme and afer the programme, he set me up because of what we are dragging. We are dragging the chairmanship of the communion and that was why he set me up. But to my greatest surprise, on the said day and after I had prayed for her, the girl started  pulling off her clothes and  before you knew it, I had carnal knowledge of her.”
Nwabueze described as untrue, allegation that he made the girl abort a pregnancy from the incident. According to him, it was the girl’s father that did it but he took care of of the bill. He added that anybody could have fallen a victim of what happened to him while being paraded at the Rivers State Criminal Investigation department, SCID, in Port Harcourt.

Church Suspends John And Love Kumuyi

John and Love Kumuyi tendered an apology letter to the church on the 22nd of June, but it seems the leaders already have their own plans. The couple have been suspended from the church. The church leaders also said, their wedding didn't take place in a Deeper Life Church in Jamaica and the church's tradition of dressing moderately still holds. Read the couple's apology letter below and that of the church too.

Letter of Apology
John and Love Kumuyi, write to express our deepest and most sincere apology for the turn of events, that have resulted on our traditional and wedding ceremonies, that took place in Jamaica on 13th June and 15th June, 2013 respectively.

We unreservedly and wholeheartedly state, that we did not intend that our acts or omissions will in any way undermine the great works that God has done through the Deeper Christian Life Ministry Worldwide and more specifically , through our Father in the Lord, the General Superintendent (GS).

Final year student killed by rapists

A final year Guidance and Counselling student of the Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State, was allegedly killed on Saturday by some rapists after she failed to allow them to sexually abuse her.
The killing was the climax of a series of rapes said to have become commonplace at the college in the past few months.
The student, whose name was yet to be confirmed on Sunday, was said to be an indigene of Obeledu in Anaocha Local Government of the state.
Her body was found near the school chapel not far from the lecturers’ quarters.
The Provost of the college, Dr. Clara Obiagwu, declined comments on the incident when contacted.
“Stay off our college until you are invited. Did you contact me before nosing around my college? I have told you, don’t report about my college,’’ she told reporters.
The Public Relations Officer of the College, Mr. Willy Chukwuma, however said the incident did not occur on the campus.
The Anambra State University was last month shut down after students took to the street to protest the killing of a female student by armed robbers that invaded a female hostel.
